Casper Hotel & Motel Guide
Situated in central Wyoming, Casper is an outdoor paradise. Providing ample opportunities for outdoor fun, the Platte River parkway follows the North Platte River through Casper. This parkway spans 11 mi (18 km) from Paradise Valley Park to the North Casper Soccer Complex and is popular for activities such as walking, fishing, canoeing, kayaking and picnicking. Part of the parkway includes a 0.5 mi (0.8 km) section of manmade whitewater in the Casper Whitewater Park. Golf lovers can play a round at one of the city's four golf courses, including its newest course designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., the Three Crowns Golf Club. Come winter, visitors can cross-country ski, snowshoe and snowmobile on Casper Mountain. The mountain is also home to downhill skiing and snowboarding at the Hogadon Ski Area, which features 24 trails and over 600 ft (183 m) of vertical.
The city provides plenty of history and cultural experience to visitors including music and theatre at the Casper Events Center as well as several museums. Home to the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center, visitors can experience the pioneer days while on the California, Mormon, Oregon and Pony Express Trails. Holiday goers can also learn more about Fort Casper and the region's history while on a tour through the reconstructed 1865 military post. After a busy day on the trail, visitors to Casper can find lodging in two main hotel and motel areas: east and west Casper.
